My luck with models has always been analogous to rolling dice. You really never know how they’re going to operate until you work with them.
Most of the time they’ve been pretty awesome. Some, a bit difficult. And other times, they can be stellar!
But this new model in St. Louis has set my camera afire! Ironically named, Jesus, he brings a smoldering sensuality to these pics like none other. And certainly not like the Jesus I have photographed in the past.
Jesus actually hails from Spain. He’s a lively, carefree kinda guy with a beautiful body that exhuberantly embraced the photo session. And his accent was an exotic addition.
Jesus was so energetic. In spite of the fact that we had a rather brief time to work together, he seemed to bring passion and excitement to each shot.
His enthusiasm was abundant as we explored more abandoned St. Louis, totally caught up in the attention the camera brings. We even shot a bit in the old cemetery, one of my favorite haunts.
I’m so happy to discover exciting people like Jesus. Instagram has been wonderful for connecting with these amazing individuals and now BlueSky is bringing about the same connections.
I prefer these guys who are comfortable with themselves and their bodies – guys who are confident with their artistic direction, if you will. They are the ones who ground these pictures in reality making them almost voyeuristic – like stolen visions.
In conclusion, I notice that each year grows a better stable of competent men willing to step into the limelight of these unique places and take the risk of producing distinctive imagery.
I’m so fortunate to have them help me. Already I’m plotting next year’s course and I can’t wait to work with more models like Jesus.
