It’s always so exciting to see how different men perform during a shoot. Some need a bit of coaxing or inspiration, while others cut loose and rejoice in their bodies and the expressions they can reveal.
This new model from Montreal, Jordan, is one of those who can explode enthusiastically into a dynamic stance. The result was awesome!
Jordan is very comfortable with his body. He recognizes the visual strength of his figure and is not timid with sharing that beauty. But there’s a humble side of his desire to share.
Like many other dancers, his art involves his body. He understand how the nuance of movement is more emotive than with just costumes alone.
The lighting in this place was so luscious. It was an amazing old factory with multiple spots of light streaming in from ceiling holes or windows. The remaining mechanicals lent themselves to even more intriguing captures.
Jordan seemed to enjoy these engaging features and brought forth his creativity, producing lots of stunning imagery.
Overall, the expedition to Montreal was so much fun. I truly enjoyed this wonderful French-Canadian city, feeling European sensibilities so close to home. And I didn’t realize how many cool things were there – like Cirque du Soleil’s headquarters and the old Olympic Village.
So much creative energy!
After working with Olivier and Jordan, I’ve discovered how that energy translates to its people. It’s definitely on my list for a return trip.
I have to make a sidebar here. Many people inquire about my shoots and wonder how I find the locations. After many years of methodically exploring by myself, I’m happy to have reached a stage in my career that has engaged others.
I’m not a hugely productive photographer. But the work I create has been meticulously researched. It’s important to my overall theme that these places are genuine. So I’m happy to have good friends who recognize my efforts and want to help elevate my concepts to new levels. Without them, things would be much more difficult.
My thanks again to all my models, friends and assistants who have shared my vision, wishing to make incredible images of our fleeting world.
